Hi Fellow Media Teachers,
I have found a great photography resource to use in your classes. The book is called "Photography of the Age” and
provides a historical and contemporary context for some of the most famous images by some of Australia’s leading photojournalists published in the Age newspaper. It also provides information on
why they these images were selected as well as technical information from the photographers themselves on how they were produced. The Author Kathleen Whelan is an experienced educator, artist and
photographer.
I had Kathleen come and speak at a regional PD about her book and found it very informative. I’m always looking for
resources to use and have found this one a great way to introduce analysis. It would also be useful for senior students interested in photojournalism.
